Full panel drug tests or ones specifically trying to detect marijuana detect the chemicals in your body used to break down THC. There isn’t much research out there to draw a definite conclusion on failing a drug test because of Delta-8. We highly advise that you avoid any cannabis products if you have a drug test coming up.

Full panel and marijuana drug tests were designed before the 2018 Farm Bill. These tests detect metabolites of Delta-9 THC. They cannot discern if the metabolites broke down legal, hemp-derived Delta-9 THC or Delta-9 THC from marijuana. We advise that you avoid cannabis products if you have a drug test coming up.
CBD stands for “cannabidiol,” a highly prevalent cannabinoid that can be found in hemp. Unlike Delta-8 THC or Select Spectrum, the effects of CBD are not as pronounced, but for many enthusiasts, it helps take a “slight edge off.”
CBD from hemp is legal on a federal level, though some states have banned it in certain circumstances. CBD might be illegal in a state, but the Select Spectrum blend is not.
CBD is derived from hemp directly through a process called CO2 extraction. This is the same process used to make organic decaf coffee.
CBD is not THC. However, some CBD products, such as full-spectrum CBD, can contain small amounts of Delta-9 THC. There’s no clear-cut answer as to if this small amount can result in a positive drug test. It’s always best to avoid cannabis products when you have a drug test coming up.
